Jennings Ave Rail Crossing
Estimated Construction Schedule: Slated to begin June, 2017 and is anticipated to be completed September, 2017. Construction Contract Amount: Pending Project ID #: 1650 |
Description:
The purpose of this project is to provide a pedestrian and bicycle rail crossing at Jennings Avenue. The conceptual design of the crossing will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and will include warning devices in compliance with Federal and State regulations. An environmental impact report has been completed to review an at-grade crossing and an overcrossing at this location. In September 2016, the CPUC granted the at grade crossing at this location.
Project Status:
The City of Santa Rosa is preparing a full Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the proposed Jennings Avenue bicycle and pedestrian crossing over the Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) rail line, just south of the future SMART station at Guerneville Road. The document is evaluating the environmental impacts of constructing an at grade rail crossing. The crossing would be constructed to make the connection across the rail line where Jennings Avenue currently terminates on either side of the tracks. |
