Description: This project will renovate the park and trail. The scope of the project is based on the priorities of the community determined through the master plan process, including a children's play area and picnic area, a full-sized turf athletic field with lighting, basketball court, futsal court, restrooms, pathways, public art, site furnishings including waste receptacles, water fountains, benches, picnic tables, lighting, park monument signs, reconstruction of the adjacent paved path including new paving and lighting, and raised crosswalks at Milton and Frazier to provide safer access into the park from the neighborhood and to slow traffic on Temple Ave.

Soil sample collection scheduled on July 7 and 8: On July 7 and 8 between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, the City's consultant, Stantec, will be collecting soil samples at various locations within the park and trail. Soil sample collection and testing is a normal process to prepare for this large renovation project and will provide information to the Design-Builder regarding existing conditions. Most of the park will remain open; however, Stantec will use cones and tape to indicate the areas temporarily closed for public use. For your safety, please stay out of the delineated work area. The playground, restrooms and picnic area are expected to remain open. The soccer field and basketball court may be impacted for up to half a day. Sampling along the trail requires partial to full closure for up to two days. A frame signs will indicate trail closure, please use alternate routes. Expect noise from equipment while samples are being collected.

Design-Builder Request for Proposals: The City has prequalified 3 Design-Build teams that will be invited to participate in the Request for Proposals process to select a Design-Builder to design and construct the park. A recommendation to award a contract is expected to be presented to City Council for their consideration in Fall 2026.
