Description:
This project will renovate the park and trail. The scope of the project is based on the priorities of the community determined through the master plan process, including a children's play area and picnic area, a full-sized turf athletic field with lighting, basketball court, futsal court, restrooms, pathways, public art, site furnishings including waste receptacles, water fountains, benches, picnic tables, lighting, park monument signs, reconstruction of the adjacent paved path including new paving and lighting, and raised crosswalks at Milton and Frazier to provide safer access into the park from the neighborhood and to slow traffic on Temple Ave.
Take the survey and help shape the future of Martin Luther King Jr Park: The community is invited to view the playground renderings and descriptions submitted by three prequalified Design-Build teams, and participate in a survey to provide feedback. The renderings and survey can be accessed at https://www.srcity.org/3934/Martin-Luther-King-Jr-Neighborhood-Park-. The results of the survey will help inform the selection of the Design-Builder for this exciting community project. Following selection of a Design-Builder, a recommendation to award a Design-Build contract is expected to be presented to City Council for their consideration in Fall 2026. |
